Charlie turns 2!

Our family's Birthday Bonanza continued on Wednesday when my baby turned 2! (How is that even possible!?!?) We had such a fun day celebrating this special little guy.
Charlie got to open his present in the morning. He got a Lightning McQueen race track which he wanted absolutely nothing to do with. It makes a loud buzzing sound, and he chose to watch from a distance and Grace broke in his new toy. Oh no! The 2 year old smile has begun!

We headed to the Pacific Science Center in the morning. We had hoped to go to the zoo (which those of you who know me well know trips to zoo for my kids is a rare treat!), however the weather didn't cooperate. The Science Center was a blast, and both kids had a great time running from thing to thing. All of the science was way over their heads, but they had fun just the same.
Grace is really into butterflies right now, so I was excited to take her to the butterfly house. She was not thrilled with all the butterflies flying around her head and wanted to be held the whole time. I had great dreams of getting a picture of her holding a butterfly, but had to settle for a butterfly by itself. Maybe next time!
When we got home, Grace continued having a great time playing with Charlie's new race track. Even Jeff played with it for quite awhile, but Charlie still chose to watch from a distance.
After dinner out at one of Charlie's favorite places, a local Mexican restaurant, we headed home for cupcakes. Charlie LOVED being sung to.
He was much more interested in licking the frosting off his candle than eating his cupcake. He even took a big bite out of his candle!
And just before bed....
(But don't even think about turning it on!)Happy birthday, Charlie Bear! We love you!!

  1. Brooke- I love how candid you are about your kids. The stories are so cute and so true to who they are :) You have two incredibly adorable, sweet little spirits in those two!! Now, take a break next week with no birthday celebrations!!!
