Getting Ready

As of today, "baby brother" is due in just 6 weeks! Over the past week or so, my mom and I (okay really mostly my mom) have been working on getting his room ready. Here are some pictures of the progress so far.

There is still a lot to do, but now he at least will have a place to sleep should he decide to make his grand entrance early!

After watching us work in this room, Gracie has decided that she'd like her room painted, so that is our next big project. (And by "our " I mean my mom! =0)

Bop's Boat

This afternoon we went to visit Grammy and Bop on their boat. This was Gracie's second visit, her first being when she was just 3 months old. Grammy and Bop gave her a new life jacket which she loved wearing. She had fun "driving" the boat (we didn't actually leave the dock), looking at ducks, and playing with the many switches. This afternoon, when she woke up from her nap, the very first thing she said was "Bop's boat" and she has been asking to go back all evening. She seems to especially miss her life jacket. =)

Getting Dressed

Grace is really becoming an independent gal. She loves to get herself dressed in the morning, but it doesn't always turn out quite right. This morning she picked out her own clothes for church then put them on all by herself. Evidently, it's all the rage to just leave your pajamas on under your clothes, wear your skirts upside down (this is an especially good look when the skirt has built in shorts), and layer several shirts on your neck. What a cutie! We love watching her experiment and learn like this. The best part is her sense of humor. She knows she hasn't got it quite right, and squeals with delight at her own "style".

Here are just a couple other looks she's put together. As you can see in the last picture, she may just have a hidden fashionista inside after all! (I swear I did not help pick out the outfit!)

Just like Daddy...

We were surprised by a dumping of snow this afternoon. Jeff and Grace played in it until it was too dark to see the fort and snowman they were building. When they came in, Gracie took Jeff's hat and shoes, and it appears she also learned a new way of warming her hands up. =)
