Last week we spent a couple of days at beautiful Lake Kachess with my sister Megan, her husband Jeff, and their sweet little girl Lily. It was our first ever camping trip, so it was really nice to have Megan and Jeff, who are experts, along to show us the ropes. We had so much fun getting to spend time with them and look forward to many more camping trips together.
When we first arrived, it was really hot, the kids were hungry and whiny, we couldn't get the tent up, Olivia had a massive blowout, and we were attacked by mosquitoes. Honestly, I was ready to get back in the car and head home. But then Megan and Jeff showed up, we found some shade, the kids got full tummies, the tent went up and the fun began! As soon as we could, we headed to the lake to play in the water.

After spending the afternoon at the lake, we headed back to our campsite for dinner, s'mores, and lots of excitement about the night ahead in the tent!
The next morning was cold, but we warmed up with coffee and a campfire.

Lily LOVED being around Olivia. Every chance she got, she would run over, point and say "Baby!" She also made sure that Olivia always had a paci in her mouth. It was very sweet!

On day 2, we discovered a smaller swimming area, so after packing up, we headed there to play in the water and eat lunch before heading home. It was really cool how the water came up around these trees. The kids got to play in the water and be in the shade!
I am so in love with this sweet little girl. It is amazing how fast 6 months can fly by! (Almost seven, actually!) Olivia is such a fun baby and is full of personality. She has a smile that lights up her whole face and is quick to share it with just about everyone. Her giggle is contagious, and it doesn't take much more than Grace jumping up and down to get her going. Actually, I would say that she laughs more than she cries...that's a sign of a great baby if you ask me! 
She currently loves the following things: putting anything and everything into her mouth, playing with her toes, Grace and Charlie (despite the fact that they are constantly doing wild and crazy things to her), having her diaper changed (because honestly, it just doesn't happen that often!), pureed peaches, rubbing her "lovey" on her face, and watching kids play from her comfy spot in various baby carries. She does not like: the church nursery, bottles, peas, or long car rides. As long as we avoid the latter, she is one extremely happy baby!
Her latest trick is learning to sit up. Which means she has officially entered my favorite baby stage! She is happy to sit on a blanket surrounded by toys for very long periods of time. She has two little teeth poking through her bottom gums and is chewing on anything and everything. She is extremely verbal and loves "talking" to anyone who will listen. She has recently had some great conversations with her cousin, Emma, and they even had their first argument over a toy!
We are beyond blessed by our sweet Livvy!
Our first camping adventure was a great one, and we're already trying to figure out how we can get one more trip in this summer. Thanks Megan and Jeff for all of your help!
