A Funny Shot

I just had to share this picture because I think it is so hysterical. Grace wanted to hold Charlie this morning, so I got the camera ready thinking I might catch a sweet moment. Instead I caught what many, many moments have been like the past couple months. Grace looks ready to attack and Charlie looks like he's pleading for someone to save him! Don't worry...no harm was done. She was "just teasing, Mama!"

Are you smarter than a two year old?

Grace received a bubble maker from her Auntie Kate and Uncle Ryan for her birthday. At the time, we tucked it away for nicer weather. The nicer weather finally showed up this weekend, so we decided to get it out and give it a try. I got it put together, turned it on, and tried for several minutes to get it to make bubbles without much luck. Grace kept trying to get it from me and I kept saying, "Let mommy figure out how it works then I'll teach you." I finally gave up because I couldn't get it to produce one bubble. I gave it to Grace and within 10 seconds she had filled the air with bubbles! Jeff laughed hysterically and said, "This better go on the blog!" So-there you go honey! Being a mom can be so humbling!

Jeff also had success producing bubbles. I never did figure the darn thing out!

Are you sure we have his birthdate right?

That's what Charlie's pediatrician asked me this morning after seeing his two month stats. She then laughed, showed me his growth chart and proclaimed, "He's the size of an average 6 month old!" As of today, this "little" guy is 26 inches and 13.5 pounds of absolute perfection! Did I mention that he's sleeping through the night!?!? Oh, how I love this kid!

Happy Mother's Day!

I want to take a few minutes to publicly thank both my mom and Jeff's mom for all they mean to us. I don't think it would be possible to find two more loving and generous moms/grandmas in the world! I can't tell you how many times they have each come to my rescue at a moment's notice. Whether its help getting ready for a new baby, taking care of Grace when I've been too sick, stocking my freezer with "comfort cookies", or just giving my kids all the love and attention they need (and then some!), these women are ALWAYS there offering a helping hand. I've learned so much from them about how to be a mom just by the example they've set in raising Jeff and I. We are truly blessed because of them!

Fun at the Park

We had a great time playing at the park in today's sunny weather. Grace loved having a chance to get all of her energy out. (Or was it Jeff and I who were glad she was getting her energy out!?!?)

In case you're wondering, that's a band-aid on her head. She bonked it earlier, and in our house band-aids cure everything. What a monkey!Charlie, on the other hand, had a very peaceful and relaxing time at the park. At least he got to enjoy some fresh air! =)

Smile!

Charlie has developed the most adorable smile! He has been smiling for awhile, but over the past week he has become incredibly "smiley". It's next to impossible to catch him with the camera, but here are a couple of his huge smiles.
