Baby Polls
I've added some polls to our blog...I know, I know, I'm getting very technologically savvy!! Voting ends the evening of the 29th. I couldn't do a poll for what you think the baby's name will be (multiple choice would give much too much away!), but I'd love to hear your guesses in the comments section. =)Vote away!

Fresh Air At Last!
As soon as we saw the weather forecast for this weekend, we planned a trip to one of Gracie's very favorite places...Kelsey Creek Park. It was so nice to be outside for an extended period of time, feel the warm sunshine, and replace that Vitamin D we've been lacking for so long!

Yeah! We're off to the farm!

Grace loves visiting the animals.

Playing at the playground is fun too!

Going home is hard, but we know spring is coming and there will be many more trips to the park!

Gracie's Room
Considering that our baby boy is due in a matter of weeks, one would think that we'd be busy getting ready for his arrival. That would definetly be the logical route to take. However, we've been busy redecorating Gracie's room instead. Once she saw the paint job in her baby brother's room, she made it very clear that she wanted to have her room painted as well. My mom and I worked really hard (and I mean REALLY HARD) getting the paint just perfect, and then Gracie and I had this conversation:

"Do you like the new paint in your room?"
"Ummmm...no."
"Isn't fun that Grandma came to paint your room like baby brother's?"
"No."
"Should we take the paint off?"
"Yes."
What a stinker! She seems to have come around now and loves her new space. Which is a good thing because at this point it will probably stay as it is until she leaves for college! My mom and I have both decided that we will not be painting any stripes for a very long time.Today we hung some of her artwork and a new mirror in her room and I have to say it's looking pretty cute. She absolutely loves the mirror and her alter ego "Nakie Girl" has had a good time dancing in front of it. (Nakie girl deserves her own post, so I won't go into detail now.) Here are some pictures of the final result...well, minus window treatments and a few family photos to come. =)

Getting Ready
As of today, "baby brother" is due in just 6 weeks! Over the past week or so, my mom and I (okay really mostly my mom) have been working on getting his room ready. Here are some pictures of the progress so far.
BEFORE
GRACE "HELPING" (And I use that term very lightly!!)

FINISHED PAINTING
CRIB SET UP
There is still a lot to do, but now he at least will have a place to sleep should he decide to make his grand entrance early!
After watching us work in this room, Gracie has decided that she'd like her room painted, so that is our next big project. (And by "our " I mean my mom! =0)Sunday, January 27, 2008
Bop's Boat
This afternoon we went to visit Grammy and Bop on their boat. This was Gracie's second visit, her first being when she was just 3 months old. Grammy and Bop gave her a new life jacket which she loved wearing. She had fun "driving" the boat (we didn't actually leave the dock), looking at ducks, and playing with the many switches. This afternoon, when she woke up from her nap, the very first thing she said was "Bop's boat" and she has been asking to go back all evening. She seems to especially miss her life jacket. =)

Getting Dressed
Grace is really becoming an independent gal. She loves to get herself dressed in the morning, but it doesn't always turn out quite right. This morning she picked out her own clothes for church then put them on all by herself. Evidently, it's all the rage to just leave your pajamas on under your clothes, wear your skirts upside down (this is an especially good look when the skirt has built in shorts), and layer several shirts on your neck. What a cutie! We love watching her experiment and learn like this. The best part is her sense of humor. She knows she hasn't got it quite right, and squeals with delight at her own "style".

Here are just a couple other looks she's put together. As you can see in the last picture, she may just have a hidden fashionista inside after all! (I swear I did not help pick out the outfit!)
